On July 8, 2025, the Final Review of Phase 1 of the 5G-HOSTS-SAT project took place, hosted at the headquarters of RomARS S.r.l., with the participation of Guta Maria (ESA) and from Nextworks S.r.l., MBI srl, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and the University of Pisa!
During the meeting, the latest results from 5G trials enabled by satellite technology in the fields of PPDR and smart agriculture were presented. One of the highlights was a live demo featuring a video call from the “5G bubble” in Vicenza to the laboratory in Rome, made possible thanks to satellite connectivity with the participation of the Civil Protection of Friuli Venezia Giulia The smart irrigation tests in Lucca showed promising savings in both water and energy consumption.
The project now moves into Phase Two, which will include new over-the-air trials in the fields of logistics, media production, video surveillance, and livestock farming.
