Access to 5G via Wi-Fi. The easiest and most effective way to connect to a 5G network from a Wi-Fi network.
RomARS makes its “N3IWF” interconnection Gateway available as per 3GPP specifications.
RomARS N3IWF: A 5G Network Function to add “untrusted” non-3GPP access mode to an existing 5G Core.
Main technical information
● Three possible installations:
– Pre-configured in dedicated COTS hardware
– In-Cloud
– As a Virtual Machine (VM) at your premises
● Integrates with your 5G Core via standard N2/N3 interfaces. Same interconnection as RAN/gNB
● Can be co-located or connected via VPN to 5G CN
● Equipped with Wi-Fi with built-in 802.11 module or can be connected to one or more external Wi-Fi Access Points
N3IWF Key Features
● Native or gNB-compatible 3GPP mode
● Full support and enforcement of 5G QoS
● Aggregate throughput of up to 4 Gbit/s per vCore
● Multiple scalability options to support an unlimited number of Access Points, UEs, and PDU Sessions
● IPSec server with NAT-Traversal support
● Web graphical user interface for configuration and monitoring
Available Accessories
- A Virtual Machine (VM) is available to emulate the User Equipment (UE) for untrusted non-3GPP access via N3IWF.
- A Standalone 5G Core Network platform is available that is compatible with the N3IWF gateway.
- Since as of today there aren’t COTS Android/iOS UEs available for untrusted access, we can also provide dedicated/ruggedized HW for the UE based on Debian O.S., connected to our N3IWF via Wi-Fi:
